Real Oviedo midfielder, Saúl Berjón, appeared in the Press Room before today’s evening training session at El Requexón. Mentioning his “clear head”, the winger highlighted the team’s desire to “work at our maximum to
win in Soria.”

With the defeat against Real Valladolid now forgotten, the Asturian highlighted the need to “come away from Soria with three more points, irrespective of whether they are in the playoff places or not. We need to get a good feeling and maintain it until the end. All the teams are good, but we are going to give it our best and hope that the other team ends up being disappointed, not us.”

Although the defeat “affects you, especially on the day of the match”, Saúl doesn’t see currently being outside the playoff places as particularly vital, sending a reminder that, “the most important thing is to be in it on the final day. We would all like to be at the top all season, but we have been consistent. If we hadn’t been, we wouldn’t be so close now.”

Saúl sees the team as being “very sure and having great confidence in itself. The hard work is bearing its fruits. We aren’t losing any games heavily, nor winning any easily. We are right in the mix in the division. I believe we can win in Soria and every game from here until the end of the season.”

With respect to the next opponent, CD Numancia, who Real Oviedo managed to beat at the Carlos Tartiere, Berjón believes that “they are a direct promotion rival. It’s true that a draw wouldn’t be too bad because we would have a better head-to-head record, but we are only thinking about winning. We will try to get a good result and then keep training hard until the end of the season.”

Regarding Forlín’s absence through suspension, Saúl reasoned that, “I am not worried about any absence in this team because I think that whoever comes in will do just as well if not better,” he concluded.
