Real Oviedo winger Saúl Berjón today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

The Asturian began by discussing the departure of Joaquín del Olmo, declaring that "it's a shame; he's a much-loved person. He did a great job here, and much more than people believe or could even imagine. He helped us all and he was a real positive. Those of us who are captains found outby phone and we passed it on to the squad. I am sure that from now on he will be happy at home every time the club does something good. We have another motivation to turn the situation around and produce a great season now." In addition, regarding this morning's meeting with the Board of Directors, the Captain commented that "they've told us to keep going, be confident, and keep pushing. The only change is that Joaquín isn't here now, but everything else stays the same."

With respect to recent matches, Saúl highlighted that "if we are being positive, then we've taken five points from the last nine. It's a shame that the points got away from us in the closing minutes against Numancia. I'm calm because we are doing a lot of things well. I want our good run to come now, because when this team gets into form then it will have no limit. I think that things are going to change and we will push upwards. We have to win and focus on ourselves. We are going to Albacete to win." In addition, regarding the change seen in the team, Saúl believes that "we've been very good in the last few matches. We cancelled out three great opponents, which says a lot about us."

Asked about his role as captain, the player pointed out that "I am carrying out the role, but there are people who don't wear the armband that do the same. We have to try not to let anything in from the outside and stick together. We are all people and nobody wants to do things badly. We are united and want to win. I want everyone to celebrate, even the biggest pessimists. We are Real Oviedo. The situation requires us to step up and I am doing so. I will take one, two or however many steps are necessary."
Furthermore, regarding the team's situation, the local lad commented that "I've never experienced anything like it. Results-wise it's been the most difficult season of my career so far, but I am calm and hopeful."

Finally, regarding the importance of finding cohesion in all areas to turn things around, the Captain said that "it will do us good to be united. We are a good team in the Segunda and we have to get out of this little by little. Having the fans on your side is one of the best feelings there is."
