Real Oviedo winger, Saúl Berjón, appeared before the press following the morning training session at San Gregorio.

After two days of training at the university facilities, the Oviedista said that, “the pitch is quite good. Maybe it’s not like El Requexón, but our work is the same. We have to be grateful that they let us train here.”

With respect to the current state of the team, having earned four of the last six points available, Saúl highlighted that, “we have been happy right since the start. We are aware that teams have good and bad spells, but a good atmosphere always triumphs. We are in the last stage now, and there’s one last effort left. We are excited for Saturday.”

Speaking about the next match against Alcorcón, the attacker pointed out that, “there’s no need to look at the table. There are no easy opponents. They will come here to win, and we have to prevent that.”

Asked whether Los Carbayones have an advantage since they have more home games remaining than away ones this season, the Asturian warned that, “we are only thinking about Alcorcón. Obviously, we like to play at home, but we are going to take it one game at a time. That’s how we’ve done it since the start, and we aren’t going to change. Every week is crucial. Each game has three points at stake, and we need to aim to win at home and away.”

Finally, regarding the team’s fine performance in Córdoba, Saúl Berjón reasoned that, “there were a couple of games where we didn’t play as we had been doing. Maybe it was because a few things didn’t work out for us, not because we didn’t give everything. Now we need to look forward and continue this good feeling until the end of the season,” he concluded.
