Marco Sangalli was presented to the Press at the Carlos Tartiere after paying a visit to the participants in the third week of the club’s summer camp.

The new signing was accompanied by the club’s Technical Secretary, Miguel Pérez Cuesta ‘Michu’, who welcomed him by saying “Marco is a player with a lot of experience in the division and he’s here to help. We welcome him and wish him all the best.”

The new ‘Carbayón’ player wanted to begin by “saying thanks to Michu and to the club for their interest in me. I am very happy to be at Real Oviedo. It’s a historic club and one of the biggest in the division. It’s nice to
come to a club with the whole city behind it. It’s true that there is pressure, but you can turn it into something nice over the course of the season.”

Asked what he knows about the team and the club’s history, Marco highlighted that “it’s had problems and had bad times, but the fans are conscious of where they are now. The Segunda is a difficult division, but
the pressure has to serve to help the team. The Carlos Tartiere always creates pressure. It’s difficult to play here, but this has to be in our favour. As soon as you sign you become aware of the magnitude of the club;
everything surrounding it is huge. It’s nice to live in a city where everyone supports the team, and it’s good for the project.”

Regarding what he can contribute to the squad, Sangalli believes that “it’s all about being a team player. Great, united squads are the ones which triumph. Everything good for me will be good for Real Oviedo.” In
addition, with respect to his conversations with Michu and the decision to opt for Real Oviedo, the wide player stated that “we had conversations and I got a good feeling. The chats with Michu were important in me coming
here.”

Asked about the competition on the wing, with several players fighting for the spot, Sangalli highlighted that “competition is good. The season is very long in the Segunda, and the more competition there is, the better for the team.”

Finally, with respect to the club’s aim for the new season, the winger believes that “Real Oviedo has to grow. Ever since the first year (back in Segunda), the fans have wanted promotion, and each year it’s been closer. The club has to keep growing, continue on the right path and keep in mind mthat it will be able to achieve it at some point,” he concluded.
