Real Oviedo goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

Following another day of training, the stopper stated that, “we are doing a lot of sessions and a lot of physical work. Little by little we are getting to know each other and we are hoping to build something pleasant.”

Regarding his daily work, Alfonso admitted that, “I try to show that I’m ready to play, just like all my teammates. I hope that my work gets its rewards. It’s nice when people appreciate your work. You have it in mind during all the work in training. We are starting to get to know each other now and we want to form a good group and do great things.”

Asked about the objectives heading into a new campaign, the keeper commented that “it’s my fourth season here. We’ve finished just outside the playoffs every year. The aim is to reach the playoffs, because the club and the fans deserve it. It’s true that we all want to get there too, but we are doing things well each year and taking short, efficient steps forward. We are advancing to achieve success, on the field and professionally.”

Finally, with respect to Alberto Horreo, the youth team goalkeeper currently taking part in preseason with the first team, Alfonso concluded by highlighting that “you can see his hunger. He’s training very well and has adapted quickly. If he gets an opportunity then he has to make the most of it.”
