Real Oviedo winger Marco Sangalli appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.
Los Azules will face Málaga at the NMR Carlos Tartiere in the next matchday in LaLiga SmartBank. The winger highlighted that "they are coming here with fifty points. If we win we will move level with them and it would be a great step for us. They are not mathematically safe and they will come here to compete. It will be a tough match. We hope to get to fifty points and move closer to safety." In addition, Marco admitted that "we are finding it hard at home. This is the second of two consecutive home games, and the other day we managed to get the result we wanted. We are going into Monday hungry to get the three points, move closer to safety, and allow our fans to relax."
Regarding his analysis of the season so far, Sangalli believes that "it's complex, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. The team wanted to finish higher. We have worked well, but results haven't gone our way. We want to bring this season to an end and think about next year as soon as possible. We aren't in such a stressful situation as last year. We have to analyse it, make conclusions, and improve for next year."
Asked about the possible return of fans to stadiums, Sangalli reasoned that "I don't really understand why fans are going to be allowed in some grounds and not in others. There have been supporters in other leagues. Meanwhile we play at the NMR Carlos Tartiere, one of the biggest stadiums in the division, and incredibly fans can't come in. These are decisions made by people high up, but I wish people could come to a game." In addition, talking about the reception the players would receive from the fans, the wingers highlighted that "they have the right to treat you in the way they want. I think excitement would be the main thing after a year and a half, though."
Finally, talking about the possibility of Ziganda remaining in charge for next season, Sangalli believes that "the Coach has put trust in me and I've tried to repay him. He's doing a good job. The results aren't what we expected, but the work done at El Requexón has been very good. I'm sure he'd do a fantastic job."
