Real Oviedo striker Rodrigo appeared in the Press Room this morning, following the team's training session at El Requexón.
The attacker evaluated yesterday's win in Extremadura, saying that "everything looks better after a win, but we mustn't make the mistake of thinking it's all done now. Quite the opposite. We need to keep going on this path, working even more if possible. I think it's almost more important to defend well and keep clean sheets in this division. It's something that we are putting into practice, and the team is doing it well. Defending begins with the forwards' work."
Asked about the message 'There is no break', which went viral yesterday after a photo of the whiteboard in the changing room was published as the players took their belongings to the coach, Rodrigo explained that "it's obvious that there's no break. It's a message from inside the camp that got out yesterday. We can't look too far ahead, nor backwards. We have to focus on the here and now."
On an individual level, Rodri admitted he was "happy with the minutes, faith, and finishing. I wasn't sure whether to celebrate yesterday or not (due to VAR), but I hope that the same happens in every game and we always end up celebrating."
Finally, regarding the work done in the past few weeks, the striker said that "the Coach's message is that we have to be organised and together, and manage the phases of the game well. I think we are working on it in training and putting it into practice in the matches, which is the important thing. Internally we are clear that this is the right path, but we haven't done anything yet. We have to think about the next match, get stronger and improve."
