Real Oviedo paid tribute this Sunday to María Victoria Rubiera Seco, “Vicky,” before the match against Getafe CF at the Carlos Tartiere.
Vicky, an employee of the Club since 1989, received the affection and recognition of the entire Oviedo family after dedicating practically her entire life to Real Oviedo, following the family legacy of her father, Celestino Rubiera, who worked for the club since 1954 and remained connected to the entity well into the 2000s.
As a recognition of a lifetime of dedication, commitment, and devotion to the blue crest, the Real Oviedo players took to the field wearing a shirt with the message “A life dedicated: THANK YOU VICKY” as they entered the pitch for the match.
Subsequently, during the pre-match line-up, the video scoreboard and the public address system at the Carlos Tartiere delivered an emotional message to the honoree, who was seated in her season ticket holder seat near the access to the pitch.
The tribute continued with words of recognition for her career and legacy within the blue entity, highlighting her nearly four decades of service to the club and the deep connection of the Rubiera family to the history of Real Oviedo.
Afterward, the captain of Real Oviedo, Dani Calvo, presented a bouquet of flowers to Vicky, who then performed the honorary kick-off for the match against the azulón team, receiving the ovation and affection of the entire Oviedo fanbase.
