Real Oviedo left Getafe empty-handed, despite having managed to take the lead in the first half in the best 45 minutes seen from the side away from home so far this season. They were unable to cope with a home side who piled on the pressure during the second half, and who managed to secure their first victory in LaLiga this season.

Real Oviedo, who had brought Michu into their starting lineup, began the game strongly, keeping possession well and keeping it tight in defence. Getafe struggled to get into the game in a first half which began with a goal from Torró only ten minutes into the match. In a move clearly planned on the training ground, Varela put a fine cross into the box from the left wing, which the central midfielder met with his head. Real Oviedo had taken the lead on the scoresheet and remained comfortable in the match, displaying a cutting edge in creating chances on goal. Juan Carlos attempted a long goal kick which played Michu through one on one with Alberto, but he failed to apply the finish. Torró had another headed opportunity, this time from a cross from Jon Erice, but this time headed over the crossbar. Getafe had started to push for an equaliser before the break, but without any clear cut opportunities.

The home side put the pressure on from the very first minute of the second half, and their reward would swiftly arrive. Paul Antón equalised from a rebound from the edge of the box, firing home into the top corner. Michu
responded with a fine effort, despite being forced to his left, which was saved by the home side's keeper. The next chance fell to Getafe, with Juan Carlos' hand this time keeping out an effort from the edge of the box from Paul Antón. Fernando Hierro brought on Rocha, Peña and Linares, and Real Oviedo kept up their pursuit of a goal. Rocha himself had the best opportunity from a one on one ultimately won by Alberto in the six yard box, and folloring this Getafe netted their second goal. Real Oviedo didn't give up in the match, chasing a draw right until the final whistle. Molinero was dismissed for a second yellow card, and Real Oviedo continued to pour forward in attack. Nando put a cross in from the left which nobody was able to get on the end of, and grazed the right hand post. Toché had the final chance, but the ball smashed against the post, and Real Oviedo returned home without reward.

The side will train tomorrow at 17:00, at El Requexón.
