Real Oviedo earned an important point in their visit to Nou Sardenya after a dramatic draw against CE Europa, in a key match for Andrea Suárez's team to move closer to staying in the league. The blues fought until the end and managed to equalize the match, allowing the Carbayonas to keep adding points away from home against a direct rival.
The match did not start in the best way for the team from the capital of the Principality. Barely four minutes had passed when the home team took advantage of an error in Oviedo's ball exit to open the scoring. The early blow forced Real Oviedo to react quickly, and they did: the team stepped up, gained presence in the opponent's field, and began to string together purposeful attacks.
The persistence paid off. In the 34th minute, Sheila leveled the score and restored hope to the Carbayonas. Before halftime, Gema Ginés had to leave the field due to an injury, making way for Auñón. The first half ended with a 1-1 draw, leaving everything open for the second half.
After the restart, the match remained balanced, with both teams measuring each other and avoiding risks. In the 65th minute, Andrea Suárez made substitutions, bringing on Nati Cano and Sheila Elorza to add freshness and depth. However, just as the Oviedo side seemed to be settling in, Europa struck again: a direct free kick in the 74th minute made it 2-1, forcing the blues to fight back once more.
Marta Arias and ADT came on in the 78th minute, and the final stretch was an exercise in faith and character. Real Oviedo pushed forward, pressed, and threw everything at the opponent's area in search of the equalizer. And the reward came in the dying moments. In the 90th minute, a well-executed free kick by Laurina found Raissa Mbappé, who scored the final 2-2 and sparked joy on the Carbayón bench.
With this point, Real Oviedo remains in the lower part of the table but earns a result in a tough venue and keeps their hopes alive of moving away from danger.
