The fourth matchday in the Segunda B saw Real Oviedo Vetusta travel to Estadio Reino de León to face Cultural Leonesa. The match ended in a 2-1 victory for the hosts.
Emilio Cañedo opted for a starting eleven made up of Berto Hórreo; David Ámez, Ando, Pedro Inglés, Prada; Rober, Guille Bernabéu, Alex; Lorea, Ton Ripoll and Javi Cueto. Los Azules didn't start the match well, conceding both of the hosts' goals within the first 20 minutes, but the B team would end up having opportunities to grab a draw in the final minutes of the match. The first half saw Emilio Cañedo's team concede twice from the penalty spot. The B team allowed Cultural to control the ball, and the hosts held Los Carbayones under a lot of pressure for periods of the opening 45 minutes. The break saw Jordi Avilés replace Guille Bernabéu. Real Oviedo Vetusta reemerged with better defensive positioning and able to handle the home side's threat, while the forwards battled with the Cultural defence. Alex Suárez suffered a twisted ankle and had to leave the field on a stretcher. He was replaced by Joselu. Fran Pacoli, Steven and Erik Aguado all also came on, in an attempt to freshen the team up and cut the deficit. Javi Cueto scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot. The B team ended the match in the opposition's box, but they were unable to take any of the chances to score an equaliser.
The B team fell to defeat in León today. Minds now turn to the next match, which will see them face Numancia.
