The coach of Real Oviedo, Veljko Paunović, appeared ahead of the match against Levante UD and emphasized the importance of facing the game with maximum focus and a winning mentality.

“Football demands adapting to any type of change, so we are focused and not looking for excuses. We are taking advantage of the two days we have to recover and prepare for the match. The team is very clear that this Saturday it needs unity and that we have a great opportunity against a great opponent,” explained the blue coach.

Regarding the squad, Paunović confirmed that Santi Cazorla and Ovi Ejaria will be present: “In Santi's case, we will evaluate tomorrow, but it looks good. We are coming off a game with a lot of effort, and everyone has aftereffects, but the same players from the last match will be there except for Luka, who is suspended.” He also referred to Ilic's suspension: “We do not agree with the situation, but we have to focus on tomorrow's opponent.”

The coach ruled out that the prior rest is related to the upcoming international break: “For some, it’s a break, and for others, it’s long trips and matches. Right now, we are only thinking about Levante. The fans will be fundamental for the team to perform well at home. Making the Tartiere a fortress is one of our main objectives. It’s a final; we have to approach it that way.”

Regarding the defense, Paunović noted that decisions are made based on physical condition: “We are guided by the current situation. I like having competition and having two players per position to rotate depending on the competition. Bailly couldn’t be present against Valencia due to stomach issues, but when he’s well, he’s an absolute candidate to be a starter.”

The blue coach also highlighted the value of players like Colombatto: “He does tremendous work, especially in matches with many duels and where we can grow through possession.”

Regarding the opponent, Paunović recalled the recent experience against the granotas: “Levante maintains the style from last season, and their reinforcements are performing very well. Their start is good, and it will be a match as difficult as against Barcelona or Real Madrid. We already faced them last year; they earn points away from home, and we know it will be a tough and highly demanding match. It’s a fundamental game for our progress this season.”

Finally, the coach emphasized the importance of starting matches well: “Against Barcelona, we started very well; against Valencia, the reaction came after the break. If we can combine those two versions, it will be perfect.”
