Real Oviedo returned to the Carlos Tartiere after the comeback in Mestalla with a single objective: to achieve the second consecutive victory of the season. Against another newly promoted team like Levante UD, the blue coach, Veljko Paunovic, lined up the following eleven: Aarón Escandell, Rahim, Bailly, Carmo, Lucas, Colombatto, Reina, Dendoncker, Hassan, Brekalo, and Rondón.
Oviedo started the match with more intensity, although little by little that momentum faded. Hassan, who after the initial whistle kept challenging his marker, was one of the standout players for Oviedo. However, Levante UD struck first with a stunning goal by Carlos Álvarez. Oviedo claimed that the referee had impeded Reina from cutting off the play, but the protests were in vain, and the 0-1 went up on the scoreboard.
After the restart, Ilyas Chaira came on in place of Brekalo, and our team went all out again. In the 56th minute, Cazorla and Viñas also entered the field for Reina and Rondón. Real Oviedo had the clearest chance in the 64th minute with a header from Carmo that was brilliantly saved by the visiting team's goalkeeper.
Chaira hit the post in another of Paunovic's team's clearest chances, but immediately afterward, Levante UD scored their second. Etta Eyong took advantage of a clearance by Aarón to make it 0-2 and practically seal the match. Ovie and Forés came on in the final stretch, but the game did not change, and Calero's team took all three points from the Carlos Tartiere.
Now, with the international break in between, it's time to work and strive even harder to secure three points against RCD Espanyol.
