Having been announced as a new signing and trained with his teammates at El Requexón, Edgar has now been presented as a new Real Oviedo player in the Press Room at the NMR Carlos Tartiere.
The holding midfielder was accompanied by the club's Director of Football Francesc Arnau, who wanted to thank the player for his decision to choose Real Oviedo, and stated that "I hope it serves as a launch pad for him to become the player he wants to be, and that we can grow together.  He's a powerful lad in the air and good with his feet.  He's going to be a great signing for us this season."
Edgar meanwhile began by analysing his move to Los Azules, saying that "they told me about the possibility of leaving on loan and this proposal convinced me.  I am motivated by growing personally and the club growing. I am hungry.  It's going to be a great year."
Asked what he can bring to Ziganda's side, the Catalan stated that "I've been training with Betis, and I am available for whatever he needs from me.  I can contribute a lot of work, effort and discipline to the team.  I give it everything in every training session and in every match.  I will try to have a great year from a base of the humility of day-by-day work, because that will be good for both parties."
After training together with his new teammates this morning, the midfielder commented that "it's been a day where we haven't stopped, it's all been very quick.  I was hungry to train; that's what I like doing.  You can see it's a strong and united changing room, and they've welcomed me very well."  In addition, the Catalan highlighted that "I've spoken to the Coach and he expressed his confidence in me.  I was looking forward to working under him, I've been told very good things about him."
With respect to the pressure which surrounds the club and the challenges ahead, Edgar reasoned that "I'm a demanding person and I like pressure. The pressure of the club and the fans is positive.  It forces you to give your best and improve."
Finally, regarding his experiences in LaLiga Santander, Edgar highlighted that "last year was nice for me, given that I played and it was demanding. I will be able to contribute my experience, but I am coming in with humility.  I want to make the most of the matches and always give everything."
