Despite today's match being played on Monday, there was the atmosphere of an important night today at the Carlos Tartiere. Ziganda opted for a 4-4-2, with Sangalli on the wing, against a Real Zaragoza side which went into the encounter with nothing to play for.
Ziganda's side took an early lead from a VAR-awarded penalty, with Borja Bastón converting from the spot. The joy was short-lived, however. Within just a few minutes, Pierre Cornud was forced off by injury, and Zaragoza first equalised and then took the lead. Obeng levelled the scores once more, but Real Zaragoza regained the advantage prior to the halftime interval.
Real Oviedo surged forwards in search of the victory during the second half. Femenías was forced into some good saves, before Gastón Brugman fired home a long-range effort to make the score 3-3. The Tartiere pushed the team on with great heart, and the Asturians would be awarded another penalty. However, Bastón's second spot kick would be denied by Cristian. The Tartiere crowd bid farewell to their side with a standing ovation ahead of the important match in Las Palmas.
