McDonald Mariga was officially presented as Real Oviedo's newest player this afternoon in the press room of the Carlos Tartiere.

The Kenyan, who exercised on his own this morning with the club's physical trainer, Nacho Gonzalo, was accompanied by César Martín, the club's Director of International Relations. César welcomed the player to the project, highlighting his professional career and expansive experience.

McDonald Mariga, who attended to the press in English, was assisted by Jagger Moore, a student from Brigham Young University, the school that has an agreement with Real Oviedo. Mariga began by commenting that he feels good "even though I haven't trained with the team yet, I am getting ready". When asked about his reasons for coming to the club, the center midfielder responded by saying "I chose Real Oviedo because it is a great club in Spain, everyone knows about it. That's why I joined the project, it's an important project".

Regarding his expectations for his second chapter of Spanish football, Mariga said "it's very technical and less physical. We are in one of the best leagues in the world. For me, it's not a challenge. I have played here before and I know it is will go well".

When asked about the pressure in a club as demanding as Real Oviedo, Mariga said that "in every club there is pressure, and each player has his own pressures, his own challenges. The most important thing is to play, to work, and to overcome what lies ahead".

Speaking individually, the center midfielder indicated that "as a footballer the objective is in the work, to improve. As a team, the objective is to fight, give our best, and reach our targets. I want to train, and to work, and later the coach will decide".
