The Press Room at El Requexón today saw Luismi presented with the award for February's 'Jugador Cinco Estrellas' Player of the Month. The Andalusian midfielder has stood out thanks to his fine form and has become an undisputed starter in the centre of the field since his arrival in January, and he was selected as the winner by fans of Los Azules. The supporters chose between the five players nominated by the beer company through its Twitter profile @futbolmahou. The holding midfielder was presented the prize ahead of the evening training session.
After the presentation of the award, Luismi spoke to the gathered Press. He shared the prize with all of his teammates, and declared his calm concerning the commotion and exceptional circumstances surrounding football in recent hours. "We are trying to isolate ourselves and only think about preparing for Saturday's match against Ponferradina. We are fully focused on that. It's clear that the fans are very important for us. They have been backing us all year, and the most logical and fairest thing would be for them to still be with us. If that can't be the case in the end, then we will still go for the three points."
