Real Oviedo Head Coach Luis Carrión appeared in the Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today, before the team completed the last session of the week and headed off to Barcelona. Following the weekend's good results elsewhere, the team can take a giant step forward in the table if they beat RCD Espanyol, and the Coach was clear about it. "I see everything very evenly matched. Anyone can do damage, but we must win and put in a good performance in Barcelona," he stated.

"We're in a perfect state of mind. We are sure of what we are doing. Our idea is that if we win, we will overtake our opponents and be very confident in what we do. The fact that even if we lose on Monday, we'll still be in the playoffs for another day doesn't take the pressure off us or the incentive to go and win in Barcelona. It is very important to continue doing things well, even more so against a playoff rival. We must prove that we can compete," added Luis Carrión.

When asked about Mario Hernández, Santi Cazorla, and Luismi, Carrión said, "Mario is training well and has a lot of desire and enthusiasm. We hope he can be available soon. We are delighted that he could get back for this final stretch to help. Luismi has trained cautiously, and we'll see how he is today; he could be an option. Cazorla is ready to start, forcing it a bit. He could have started against Zaragoza, but we didn't think he was quite ready", he addressed.

At the end of his address, Carrion was asked about the banner that appeared at the stadium with a phrase from the coach: "Personality, legs and thinking. Let's go, Oviedo. We are all moving in the same direction: players, fans, press, and the environment. The other day, I listened to Gorriarán, and he was right. I liked what he said. This is the year, and we are going for it," he concluded.
