Having played against Barcelona B last Friday and with another game coming up in three days in Tenerife, the activity doesn’t stop at El Requexón for Juan Antonio Anquela’s men, and today they received a very special visit.
Rick Thornton, an American shareholder who currently resides in Australia, made the most of his wife’s work trip to Spain to travel to Oviedo and become better acquainted with the history and everything related to his beloved Real Oviedo.
The tale of Rick’s involvement with Los Azules is a rather unusual one. The retired physiotherapist became a shareholder after receiving one share as a gift from a Canadian friend. Starting out with his one share, Rick became increasingly interested in Real Oviedo. He began to visit the club website every morning to follow the day-to-day news at the club and ended up purchasing more shares during one of the recent campaigns.
Our shareholder has this week fulfilled one of his dreams; visiting the city, getting to know the stadium, and attending a first-team training session.
This visit was arranged between Rick and the Social Area of the club, headed by Miguel Sanz, who helped to organise the American’s visit and met with him during his stay in the city. You can see the #RealOviedoTV video made about Rick’s trip to Oviedo below. Enjoy!
