Real Oviedo midfielder Lolo González today appeared before the Press, ahead of training. "We are hurting a lot because we haven't won. We have to try to pick ourselves up and fix it on Sunday. It's true that our opponent didn't have any shots during the first 60 minutes in Ponferrada. We showed our defensive solidity, but conceding the first goal killed us. Our heads dropped and you could see it in the match and in the result."
The midfielder admitted that "when you're doing badly, any blow hurts you more. It's harder to get back up. Now, we just have to think about Zaragoza, Zaragoza and Zaragoza. I think it's more of a morale issue than a footballing one. I've watched the last game back and they didn't have any chances before the goal. We have to keep working and focus on the next opponent. There is no other option."
Asked about the solutions he can see, Lolo highlighted that "we have to look to continue what we did in those first sixty minutes, and then the results will change. The team doesn't deserve to be where it is. First things first, we can't concede. It doesn’t matter who we are facing; the important thing is us. When this team plays well and gets results, we will start moving upwards. We haven’t spoken about the opponent yet. We are thinking about the three points we are due. I want our fans to know that we will give 100% to make them happy with us.”
Finally, Lolo concluded by saying that a victory would be “very important for our morale, because we are working well, but that’s what we’ve been missing. A first victory would let us believe and we’d start to pick up wins. Scoring goals is the most important thing in football, and we are doing it.”
