Real Oviedo went into Matchday 3 in LaLiga EA Sports with the objective of offering their fans a victory. Real Sociedad pushed in search of the equaliser right from the start of the second half, and had two good chances. First Oskarsson and then Oyarzabal went close, but both were denied by Escandell. Two minutes later, Hassan was inches away from doubling the advantage, curling an effort onto the post. Cazorla, Rondón, Sibo, and Brekalo came on during the second half, and the Venezuelan forward looked to catch the away keeper off his line, but his shot went wide. A 78th minute Turrientes volley went over the bar, following chances in the final moments for Brekalo, Rondón, and Turrientes.
