With the Real Oviedo Vetusta coaching staff now confirmed, the youth academy management is continuing to build the working staff for the other youth teams. As such, the Head Coaches of our Juvenil sides have now been announced.
Our División de Honor team will be led by Jaime Arias. The local lad knows the club very well, despite being just 21 years old. He first represented the club as a player, before later working as a first-team analyst, and now as a coach. The Oviedo-born coach ended the 2020/2021 season in charge of the Liga Nacional side, winning the championship and finishing with a fine record. He will now step up to take charge of the Juvenil first team and continue developing the young footballers.
Meanwhile, the second Real Oviedo Juvenil side will be coached by Paco Fernández, who is returning home to bring his experience to Los Carbayones' young players. He was born in Oviedo and is 53 years old. He now begins his third spell at the club, having previously represented Real Oviedo as a player between 1985 and 1993, and then as a youth-team coach. Paco Fernández boasts vast experience as a coach, having worked at clubs such as CD Lealtad, UP Langreo, Caudal Deportivo, Racing de Santander and Burgos CF, among others.
Both coaches will take charge of their respective teams once preseason is underway.
