Real Oviedo full back Diegui Johannesson appeared in the Press Room today at El Requexón.

Firstly, regarding Anquela’s departure, the defender highlighted that, “it caught me by surprise, but it was the club’s decision. We hope that it will be a change for the better.” In addition, the Asturian said that, “we all have a part of the blame. He has his share and we have our share, but we hope things will change now. Things have been going a bit downhill, and I think we were inconsistent.”

Asked about Sergio Egea’s arrival, the full back highlighted that, “it’s good. He knows the club, the city and the fans. It will just be a short adaptation period and that’s positive. I am delighted he’s here. Sergio has clear ideas, the team will push on, and we hope that it will work out well.”

With respect to a possible change in formation, Diegui said that, “I don’t know what he’s going to do, but perhaps there will be a change. It’s up to him and whatever he decides will be great. Football is about form.”

Finally, regarding the significance of a potential win at the Juegos del Mediterráneo, Johannesson concluded by reasoning that, “if we get a victory then everything could change. It would be fantastic for us. There are seven games left and we are five points off. We are going to fight and get as many points as possible.”
