With three matches remaining in the regular league season, and still with a chance of reaching a playoff place, this season's Real Oviedo Vetusta squad has now managed to form part of our club's history. This year's squad has become the best B team in the club's history.
Victory over the Basque side at the weekend saw this year's Real Oviedo Vetusta side beat the record previously held by the squad of 1990-91, who earned 53 points in the same division that season. Vetusta currently has 54 points this season.
'Los Azules' have put together a great year following their promotion to the third tier of Spanish football last season, and will continue to fight for a playoff place. Real Oviedo Vetusta is currently fifth in the table with 54 points, just four behind Barakaldo in the final playoff spot. Javi Rozada's side is away at Izarra this weekend, before games against Racing de Santander and Durango.
