Real Oviedo midfielder Javi Muñoz appeared in the Press Room today at El Requexón.

After another training session, Javi Muñoz admitted that “we are looking forward to Sunday. We know that it is going to be difficult, but we are ambitious. If I’m picked, then I’ll be excited to play and to help the team. I am ready and I’ve been working towards it. (I want to) contribute as much as possible.”

Regarding the possibility of him taking one of the midfield spots alongside Sergio Tejera, the Madrid-born player declared that “I get along great with him and we will try to do the best that we can. Sergio is a great player and we will look to give order and balance to the team, and to bring fluidity to the play.”

When asked about this weekend’s match against CD Lugo, Javi Muñoz stated that “everything is going to be very difficult from here until the end of the season. There are a lot of teams, and they are all competitive, but we are looking forward to it and we are going for those three points.” Moreover, regarding the Galician side, the midfielder highlighted that “they are a great team. They are going to cause us problems, but we are coming into it eager to earn those three points. We’ll have our fans behind us, and that makes things easier.”

Finally, talking about the importance of earning three points in order to turn the draw in Albacete into a good one, Javi concluded that “we did a good job last week, but we have to turn the point into a good one this week. We’re going to take it match by match, with the aim of getting three points every match.”
