Real Oviedo Head Coach Javi Calleja appeared in the Press Room this morning ahead of the encounter with Castellón. Los Azules go into the second match of the season with the clear target of picking up another victory, ahead of the first home league match, which will see them go up against Racing.
Asking about the opening match against Deportivo de La Coruña, the Coach stated that "it is always good to improve by winning. The other day you could see a lot of the things that I want to do, and we have to know how to adapt to each match. We have to get a lot better with the ball and in those moments where the opponent is chasing us. The other day Dépor did it very well. In an environment like that we deserve credit for knowing how to deal with it and compete how we did."
Sunday's encounter with Castellón will not be an easy one, and Javi Calleja was quick to praise the next opponent. "It's a newly-promoted team and they are in good form. They were outstanding in some of their preseason matches. They are going to fill their ground, and it will be a difficult match. We have to go there with humility and in the knowledge that it will be very difficult."
Finally, asked about the level and competition for places within the squad, Javi Calleja argued that "in each position we have two or three players of a very high level. We can't focus only on those players who start. Some players will play one day and others other days. They all have to be prepared at all times."
