Blue. Very blue. Our Adidas home shirt for the 2021/22 season will go on sale on Monday 26th July in our official stores, both in the physical club shops and online at realoviedo.shop[https://www.realoviedo.es/noticia/realoviedo.shop]
The shirt has a design based on a classic look, with no graphics, but instead is simple and beautiful. The three stripes of our kit producers can be found on the side of the shirt, while the while collar is also a key feature.
The strategy chosen by the club and Adidas for this season will see the second kit presented in October. The away kit will be pink, with the charitable aim of supporting people with cancer. Meanwhile, the 'sacavera' yellow and black kit will initially still be used as the away kit this season, before becoming the third kit when the new second kit is released.
The shirt will be priced at €69.95 for adults and €59.95 for children, and the new Adidas line for the 2021/22 season will be in our official club shops from Monday 26th July.
Spokesman for the Board of Directors Fernando Corral outlined Adidas and Real Oviedo's strategy for the 2021/22 season, explaining that "our intention is always to satisfy the demand of our fans. We've had the intention of looking to our club's history for a while, and we thought that the club had to go towards a deeper blue, as the campaign says. As part of their strategy, Adidas gave us the options of different types of graphics, but we explained that we wanted it to be blue, with no other features. For brand visibility the logos on the shoulders and sides have to be white. There, we had no option to have them in blue, but we tried. It's the most classic kit of recent years. Our aim is for the blue to change, as the club did several times in the past, at the end of the 1950s and the start of the 1990s, when the club moved towards a darker blue. The next anniversary shirt, to be released in March, will be a much more intense blue. We are looking for continuity, in line with our 'It's blue' slogan."
In addition, Fernando Corral explained the "daring" novelty with regard to the second kit. "We were sure about it. We've really identified with the sacavera kit, as a symbol of the club and of the city. The success it had last season encouraged us to continue with it. We will wear it (as the second kit) until October, and then keep it on as a third kit for the whole season. We have always thought about doing something for people suffering to mark World Cancer Day. The shirt we present in October will be pink, although not in its entirety. It's a shirt with a design which is similar to a previous shirt, which was one of the fans' favourites. Joma made that one, with horizontal stripes. It's beautiful, people will really like it. I'm sure that the female audience in particular will welcome it. This enables us to maintain our historic roots as we have always tried to do. We listen to the many things our fans suggest to us."
