It Wasn’t To Be

The B team, who never stopped going for the equaliser during the second half, fall to a 2-0 home defeat against Amorebieta

Real Oviedo Vetusta suffered a hard blow in their playoff chase this morning, falling to a 2-0 loss against Amorebieta.

In a match heavily influenced by refereeing decisions, Javi Rozada’s side were surprised by an Amorebieta team who outplayed them in the first half, beginning the match more strongly. The Basque club took the lead from the penalty spot, following a foul in the box. Halftime served for ‘Los Azules’ to alter their way of playing, and they reacted well, looking to find the leveller. The Asturians pushed on and had several clear chances to equalise, but had no luck. The visitors, meanwhile, scored a second from a very debatable penalty, sealing their victory.

Real Oviedo Vetusta will have another chance to pick up three points next weekend, when they visit Leioa.
