Real Oviedo Vetusta played their final home fixture of 2020 this Saturday afternoon at El Requexón, with Cañedo's side falling to a 3-0 defeat against Real Valladolid Promesas.
Eloy Ordóñez came in for Guille Bernabéu in what was the only change for the Real Oviedo B team from the side which took to the field last weekend at Mareo. Vetusta came up against Real Valladolid Promesas today in what was their final home fixture of the year, and the visitors did not make things easy for the Asturians. The first half was conditioned by Javi Cueto's dismissal in the second minute, after he accidentally collided with a Valladolid B player. Los Azules were affected by the red card and lost control of the game and the goal scoring chances. Valladolid Promesas took the lead in the 19th minute. The first half continued in much the same way after the goal, with Real Oviedo Vetusta looking to get on the ball and go in search of an equaliser, but without success. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-1.
Emilio Cañedo brought Steven on during the halftime interval. However, Valladolid Promesas again dominated the early stages of the second half, doubling their lead in the 60th minute. Real Oviedo Vetusta kept fighting after the second goal, with Steven having two good opportunities and the team looking to win the ball back and open up gaps in the away defence. Lorea, Erik Aguado and Fran Pacoli all also came on as substitutes. Ando saw a second yellow card in the final minutes, leaving Los Azules with nine men, and they would be further punished by misfortune, as an own goal extended the deficit further in the 90th minute.
It wasn't to be today at El Requexón, despite the relentless efforts of Real Oviedo Vetusta, who have now played their final home match of an atypical 2020.
