Pombo’s first goal in a Real Oviedo shirt was enough to fulfil a promise, as he went to see his favourite animal up close. He got to see two tigresses, Kaya and Asia, at El Zoológico El Bosque de Oviedo.

Jorge Pombo visited this home of animal care in the outskirts of the capital of Asturias and took a guided tour of the facility with zoo worker David. The parrots welcomed him by name, and he held a recently-relocated snake, as well as getting to know the American wolves, the Asian lynxes and the different types of monkeys (he also told us which is the most intelligent ‘species’ within the changing room!). Pombo also had several lemurs perched on his shoulders, before he finally arrived at his objective: he said hello to Kaya and Asia and got to hear a detailed story about the zoo’s tigresses.
