Real Oviedo player Sebas Coris was officially presented this lunchtime. Having joined the club on Deadline Day last Friday, the Catalan player has now spent a week training with his new teammates, and appeared before the Press for the first time today at Tartiere Auto, accompanied by Federico González and Francesc Arnau.
The Catalan footballer began by answering questions surrounding his move to the club, saying that "Girona told me I was surplus to requirements and I had a few nervous days. Arnau rang me on the final day, told me to catch a flight, and said that as soon as he knew he could register me with the league, he would try to do so. I came, passed the medical, and at seven o'clock I signed the contract and they registered me."
Regarding what he can bring to the team, Coris stated that "I've played a lot at wing back, on the wing, and at full back. I'm here to contribute work and sacrifice on the wing, to help, and to come into the team whenever the Coach decides he wants me in there."
In the words of the new arrival, "the welcome I've received from my teammates has been amazing. They've made it very easy for me. I've adapted now." He added that "I'm available to play now." It's been a
difficult year for him, because "I had to have a hernia operation, but I've been training well for a lot of months now, and I am really hungry to play. I need to feel part of a team, competing. That's all I want. I am feeling good physically."
Finally, discussing what he's made of his new side so far, Sebas Coris declared that "it's a very competitive team. Oviedo were brave at Montilivi (Girona). It's not easy to play at a ground like that. If we compete like that in all the matches we have left then we will definitely get out of trouble. We have to go to Vallecas now and I'm sure we will get the three points and the team's form has changed now. If we keep playing like that and the fans keep pushing us on from the first minute at the Tartiere...things will go well for us." His personal aim is "to do well in what's left of the season, and if they decide to renew my contract in the summer then I will be delighted to do so."
