Real Oviedo midfielder, Ramon Folch, appeared before the press following training at San Gregorio.
The Catalan declared himself “satisfied” following the Sporting clash, admitting that, “it was the perfect day.” In addition, talking about his experience of the day and whether it had differed from what the squad had been expecting, Folch stated, “you have an idea of how it will be, but it’s impossible to describe it with words.”
With respect to what the victory means for the team and the importance of the three points going into the remainder of the season, the Carbayón midfielder said that, “it was an important victory. We were very good and now we need to push on. We are comfortable and have a competitive squad, and we want to keep going like this.”
Regarding his fine season so far, both on an individual and team level, the Catalan highlighted that, “it’s difficult to go somewhere new and have everything turn out like this. It’s all about continuing to work hard now. I am happy that the fans are treating me and the team like this.” Talking specifically about the attendance at the Carlos Tartiere last Sunday, Folch pointed out that, “I don’t think I’d ever played in front of so many people before. They are the foundation behind the team. There were a lot of people there and they helped us and made everything easier.”
Asked what the limit is for this team, the midfielder argued that, “it’s difficult to know that. At the start of the season we were giving everything, but things weren’t going well. We are thinking about Cádiz now, and then we will see how far we can go.”
Talking about the next opponent, Cádiz, Folch highlighted that, “they are a strong team, who don’t give a lot away. All we can do now is work hard to get a positive result from the game. We will try to minimise their counter attacks, and we need to compete. Any opponent can beat you, but we are only thinking about playing well and how to combat other teams.”
Finally, speaking about his teammate, Mossa, and how his week has been after scoring a brace against Sporting, Folch said that, “he’s happy, but we are aware that we need to look forward now and only think about Cádiz.”
