Real Oviedo defender, Carlos Hernández, appeared in the Press Room following the first team’s return to El Requexón.

The centre back began by evaluating the significance of the derby victory for the group, stating that, “it was a special day. From a league perspective they were just three more points, but the feelings around it were special. The fans showed us that. We worked hard and gave them the victory. Everyone was excited all week before the match. It was a nice victory, which started right from the atmosphere at the hotel pre-match.”

Asked about the team’s fine form and the way in which they are approaching each matchday, the defender reasoned that, “we are on a good run. We never believe that any game is lost, and we always respond well. We need to keep going like this.”

Real Oviedo travel to Andalucía this weekend to face Cádiz. Talking about the match and what he expects from the clash at the Ramón de Carranza, Carlos Hernández pointed out that, “all the games are difficult. We are going to a difficult ground to face an opponent that does everything well, but we will do everything possible to win. We are on a good run. We feel confident and we are going to go there for the win.” In addition, with respect to this weekend’s opponent, the defender said that, “they concede very little and break very quickly on the counter attack. Salvi and Álvaro are dangerous players. They make a huge difference to their team, and we need to stick together. We know how to combat their play, and we hope that we can continue as we have been.”

Finally, when asked whether a draw would be a good result against Cádiz, Carlos Hernández argued that, “we’ve not gone into any game looking for a draw, and if we were to start thinking like that, then we would be making a mistake. We will go to Cádiz looking for the three points. We are an ambitious team, on a good run, and we are only thinking about winning. Cádiz are a direct rival for us in the league, and we hope to get a good result,” he concluded.
