El Requexón today played host to the clash between Real Oviedo Vetusta and Real Unión Club, which formed part of Matchday 24 in Grupo II of the Segunda División B. ‘Los Azules’ secured a 1-1 draw.

Real Oviedo Vetusta, featuring several players involved with the first team yesterday at the Martínez Valero, emerged at El Requexón needing a victory to reproduce the good atmosphere which surrounded the team during the first half of the season. The visiting team opened the scoring just nine minutes into the match, however. Despite this, the B team dominated the play and the best chances, but struggled to find a way past the away keeper. Javi Rozada’s side eventually found an equaliser, with a fine goal from Lucas Ahijado. The teams went in for halftime with the score 1-1. The ‘Carbayón’ B team continued to link up well after the break and to look for their men up front, but they were unable to find a way through. During the final stages, the Real Unión keeper suffered an injury, which resulted in play being stopped for nine minutes, and killed the host’s tempo. Steven had one final chance, but the striker couldn’t convert it.

Real Oviedo Vetusta added another point to their tally and will face Athletic Club B at Lezama next time out. The match in Bilbao will take place at 16:00 on Saturday.
