The Carlos Tartiere today played host to the presentation of the new sponsorship agreement between Real Oviedo and DIGI, which sees the telecommunications operator become the Main Sponsor of the club from the capital of Asturias.
The Tartiere provided a fine backdrop as representatives from both parties praised the agreement reached, and explained the start of a hugely promising mutual path to the gathered media.
Ángel Álvarez, DIGI's Chief Commercial Officer in Spain began the press conference by explaining their decision to back our region and city. "It's something very special for us. The truth is that we feel a bit like we are from here too, from Asturias and from Oviedo." He also stressed the importance of wanting to "return everything we gain from the area back to it. At DIGI we have wanted to back Real Oviedo because, as well as being a historic club, we both share a philosophy and very similar values."
On behalf of Real Oviedo, Vice President Manuel Paredes and Federico González also appeared before the media, explaining the details behind the agreement which sees DIGI become the club's Main Sponsor.
Manuel Paredes highlighted that "we have to give DIGI's support for Real Oviedo the great value it deserves, as well as recognising what it has done for our region and our city. We welcome them and thank them for their important backing for our club. We hope to have a long-lasting journey together. It will be beneficial for both parties."
Federico González also thanked DIGI for the support which he hopes will be the start of a fruitful relationship. "We have worked hard to close the deal. They support Asturias and Oviedo, and create jobs in the region. We are a team here and we are building together."
Ángel Álvarez explained that the agreement is based on "very similar values, such as commitment, effort, overcoming obstacles, and teamwork." These are values which define both companies and which will be apparent in the common path formed by this union.
The act ended with questions from the media and a group photo, sealing the sponsorship agreement between the two parties.
