Real Oviedo Vetusta visited the Municipal de La Planilla this afternoon to face CD Calahorra. The match ended in a 1-0 win for the hosts.
The B team tried to press high up the pitch to stop their opponent bringing the ball out from the back. However, they were surprised by Calahorra, who started the match the stronger side. Real Oviedo Vetusta gradually gained a foothold in the game, and both Sandoval and Steven had chances. They continued to try to play their usual game in the second half and make use of their forwards’ ability, but Calahorra gave very little away. The hosts made the most of the second phase of play following a free kick to score the only goal of the game. The high point of the match was Isma Fagir’s B team debut.
Real Oviedo Vetusta will have another chance to gain three points next weekend, against Real Unión de Irún. The match will kick off at 15:45 at El Requexón.
