Real Oviedo centre back David Costas appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this morning.

The defender analysed the important result secured yesterday at the Carlos Tartiere, saying "the victory is everything. Our feeling is that it wasn't a pretty performance, but you get to the changing room and it's all happiness. In the end you realise that if you don't win then it doesn't mean anything."

Regarding the arrival of Álvaro Cervera and his priorities in game, Costas highlighted that "he's not had many sessions, we have had a lot of injuries, but little by little we are adapting to what he is asking for. The first message he gave us was that he is going to prepare us to win. We were convinced from the first moment. The Gaffer asks us to run a lot and show intensity. Now we will face Alavés in a nice but different ground. It is a good to see what Real Oviedo is made of."

Finally, the centre back declared himself satisfied on an individual level. "Yesterday I felt like I did last season. Keeping a clean sheet and getting the victory gives defenders extra confidence."
