Real Oviedo full back Guillermo Cotugno appeared before the press on the site of Tartiere Auto, where the official club vehicles for the 2017/18 season were today collected.

After his official LaLiga 1|2|3 debut last weekend against Rayo, the Uruguayan stated that “it wasn’t how I had expected, but we must keep going.  We have to be strong now, take on board the positives, and rectify the negatives.”

When asked about the defensive solidity shown in preseason, the Oviedo right back recognised that “the emphasis in preseason was on not conceding.  The other day we were lacking in defence, but now we must keep pushing forward.”

With regards to next Saturday’s clash with Almería, Cotugno pointed out that “football is like that, it gives us a chance to fight back.  Almería will be a difficult opponent.  We must go with a winning mentality, correct our errors and push on”.

Finally, regarding the Head Coach’s words following the match against Rayo and this morning at El Requexón, the Oviedo right back stated that “he asked for calm.  We must continue with a positive mentality, dedication and responsibility,” concluded the Uruguayan.
