Real Oviedo defender Nahuel Valentini appeared in the press room this morning after team training.
Following his debut last weekend, the Argentine pointed out that “until their first goal everything seemed very good. Then a small mistake at a set piece made a huge difference. We have to focus on the positives and work hard to correct the things we did poorly, but without seeing everything negatively. We did many things well; the team kept trying until the final whistle, we created a lot of chances, and we deserved to draw the match. For me, the opposition also had a lot of chances, and they are a team with quality. As such, as I said before, we need to focus on the positives and try to improve on the things we did badly.”
With regards to the physical state shown by the team, Valentini highlighted that “the team ended the match going forward, and the fans did their bit too, because when the team started to pick up, then the crowd lifted the team even more. The fans helped us a lot in that sense, and we must make sure that the union between the team and fans is something very positive moving forwards.”
Finally, and regarding the next match, Valentini stated, “What better way to pick ourselves back up than against an important rival like Almería? We will try to give our best, as we did in this match, but we committed errors which we shouldn’t commit again. We respect all our opponents, in this league any team is capable of beating any other and that’s clear in all the matches. We have to try to grasp the right moment, and make the most of the opportunity,” he concluded.
