Anduva today provided the backdrop for the latest matchday in the Segunda B for Real Oviedo Vetusta, who fell to a 1-0 loss against Mirandés.

This was a true game of two halves, with Javi Rozada’s side the better team in the second half. ‘Los Carbayones’ emerged for the match at Anduva with the clear aim of picking up another win and cutting the gap between themselves and the playoffs, as they came up against one of the hardest opponents in the league. The Asturians competed during a very high-tempo opening thirty minutes, and created several chances to open the scoring through the boots of Lucas and the head of Jose Martínez. Mirandés struck first with a fine goal by Hugo Raman, which left Gorka helpless in Vetusta’s goal. The teams went in for halftime with the score 1-0. The B team emerged the stronger side for the second half; dominating the possession and threatening the opponent’s goal, but they were unable to claim their reward. Vetusta, who were very well-organised in defence, created several chances to equalise during the final stages of the game, but they couldn’t quite convert any of them.

Real Oviedo Vetusta will have another chance to get three points next weekend, when they face Arenas de Getxo at home. The B team remain in fifth place, four points behind Barakaldo, who occupy the final playoff position, with four league matches matches to play.
