Colombatto: "We must seize the opportunities and give one hundred percent"

The blue midfielder emphasizes the need to react, take a step forward, and compete at the highest level in the decisive stretch of the season before facing Sevilla FC.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Real Oviedo midfielder Santiago Colombatto analyzed the team's situation during the week of training leading up to next Sunday's match against Sevilla.

The blue player acknowledged that the break came at a key moment for the group: “I think this break is good for us to work with intensity and prepare for what's coming. After the last match, and how it went, this is an important moment to reflect and react.”

Colombatto did not hide the difficulty of the moment the team is going through, appealing to collective responsibility in this final stretch of the season: “We can't hide, we are in a complicated situation. The fundamental thing now is to hold on to the opportunities we have left. We know there is less margin, so we have to give one hundred percent and do our best to achieve our goals.”

On a personal level, the midfielder emphasized his daily commitment while waiting for playing time: “I train to play and be ready, but the decision is up to the coach. My teammates are doing well, and I keep working to be able to help when it's my turn.”

The Argentine also referred to the accumulated wear and tear during the season: “It's been a tough year, not only in sports but also in other aspects. We have to learn lessons so that these situations don't happen again. There are still important matches left, and we must rise to the occasion.” He also wanted to highlight the support of the Oviedo fans: “The people have been with us during a difficult year, and we have the responsibility to repay that support on the field.”

With self-criticism, Colombatto acknowledged the need to take a step forward in his performance: “You can feel the level jump, and personally, I know I have to improve. I work every day for that. These matches are important for the club and for me, and hopefully, we can play good games so the fans feel represented.”

Finally, he avoided focusing on his future, prioritizing the team's present: “This is not the time to talk about that. The club is in a delicate situation. I would like to stay here, I feel comfortable in Oviedo, but I am on loan, and it's not just up to me. Right now, the important thing is to perform at our best, and when the season ends, we'll see what happens.”
