Christian Fernández spoke to the gathered media in the Press Room at the end of today's training session. The defender evaluated the feeling within the team following the defeat, saying that they were "disappointed not to be able to give anything to our fans for them to be proud of." He also admitted that they were "worried", but also "just as committed, or even more so." Now is the time to "be at our best in training, look after ourselves like now or even more so. Everyone has to give everything to be in the best possible conditions to compete. Ninety minutes and three points at the Tartiere. After that we can think about the next one. And so on until Matchday 42."
Asked about his conversation with fans at the end of yesterday's match in Lugo, Christian explained that "we are all involved, each in our own way. Directors, fans, players... the fans are suffering and they continue to travel, to show us their support, and you have to know to listen to them. If you stop to talk with them when things are going well, then you are obliged to do so when they are going badly. At least to listen to them. They are an affected party, and we are not distant from their feelings."
Now, Christian stated, "I am responsible for what I do on the football pitch, and each of us takes up our own responsibility. Self-analysis and knowledge of what we can do better. There is no other way. There's no message other than work, that's the only thing we can cling to. It's about all being united; club, team and fans. Once we achieve the objective or the season ends then there will be time to look for the culprits and whatever else is necessary. Right now I would ask for that unity, which does exist, and which will enable us to keep fighting for the objective."
