Real Oviedo defender, Carlos Hernández, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

Following two consecutive victories at the start of 2019, the centre back admitted that, “we are in very good spirits. We’ve started the year with two wins and the team is in good shape.” In addition, regarding the team’s play, Carlos believes that, “we had been playing well, but now the results are going our way. This is the path to follow.”

Regarding Extremadura and the sale of Enric Gallego, who has just signed for Huesca, the defender highlighted that, “he was an important player for them, but we have to play our game. Extremadura have beaten big sides at home. It won’t be easy. We have to get ready to work, show up, and get a result there.”

With respect to his feelings on a personal level, having recovered from injury and renewed his contract until 2021, Carlos said that he was “very happy”. He was also pleased that, “I’ve had no setbacks and I’ve been able to help the team. In relation to renewing my contract, all I can say is that I am where I’m wanted and where I want to be. I am happy to be staying at Real Oviedo.”

Finally, asked about the team’s defensive solidity in the last match, Carlos argued that, “this is the path to follow; conceding few goals. We have to be solid. We have goals in us up front and the chances to score are going to come,” he concluded.
