Real Oviedo played their latest preseason friendly today, against SD Eibar at the Complejo Deportivo Fernando Astobiza de Cayón.
Bolo opted for a starting eleven made up of Braat in goal; Miguel, Luengo, Dani Calvo and Pomares in defence; Jimmy, Hugo Rama and Javi Mier in midfield; and Sangalli, Jirka and Obeng in attack.
The early stages saw heavy pressing from both sides, with the work rate and pressing of Jon Pérez Bolo’s full backs particularly noticeable. Javi Mier was forced off with a knock in the 22nd minute and replaced by Abel Bretones. The team took greater control of the encounter as the match progressed, and, following a good save by Braat, the best chance for Los Azules arrived.  Hugo Rama and Samuel Obeng linked up on the edge of the area, and the Galician midfielder just missed the top corner.
Four changes were made at halftime. The best chance of the half came from a defensive error, which saw Viti one-on-one with the keeper, but he was denied by a fine save. Academy players were heavily involved in the closing minutes, with the Asturians searching for the winning goal without luck right to the end.
The team will rest tomorrow before going back to training at 10:30 on Monday at El Requexón.
