The Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today played host to the presentation of Marcelo Flores as a new Real Oviedo player.
The Mexican, who has joined on loan from Arsenal, was accompanied by club Director of Football Tito Blanco. Tito welcomed him to the club, admitting that “we are very happy to have Marcelo here. As soon as we heard about the possibility of bringing him in we knew he could be a player to provide us with quality and talent in attacking areas. He can break teams down and score. I want to thank the player and his family for their willingness to come here.”
Marcelo Flores, meanwhile, highlighted that “I am very happy to be here. I’ve received a great welcome. Now is the time to work very hard for the team and I want to show what I can do in football. The decision to come to Real Oviedo is one made by myself and my family. It’s a big jump, but I have prepared for it, training and working to gain experience. I am going
to look to find my place in the team.”
Finally, regarding whether he may feature in the friendly against Burgos CF and what he believes he can contribute to the team, Marcelo Flores reasoned that “it’s not my decision, but I feel good and I am ready. I am an attacking player, and can play anywhere in forward areas.”
