Borja Sánchez appeared before the Press this morning to evaluate Wednesday's victory in Tenerife. "It was a victory we had been looking for for a long time. We possibly deserved it in many other matches, but
finally we got it. I think that a new league season starts for us now. We have another battle on Sunday and we will always have to suffer in order to  get the three points, but things will get better if we stay on this path."

Speaking on a personal level, Borja Sánchez commented that "I had to do a lot of work in defence, but offensively I was lacking precision in some passages of play. We got the points though, which is what really matters."

Regarding his opportunities to play and the Coach, the midfielder said that "I was being left out of the squads, but now I'm lucky because the Coach knows me and I know him. I'm getting minutes and I have to make the most of it. I am lucky in that I can play central midfield. further back or more advanced, or from the left, but wherever they put me, the important thing is to help the team. We need that pause on the ball which we are lacking at times due to our situation, but whenever we can have the ball we will do so."

With respect to Sunday, the Oviedo-born midfielder concluded by saying "we are all important going into it. If the Coach calls on me then I will play, and if not then I will support us from the touchline."
