An all-Asturian affair saw Real Oviedo Vetusta face CD Lealtad this Saturday at El Requexón. Los Azules managed to secure a 90th minute win thanks to the fight, commitment and belief they put into the clash.
Emilio Cañedo opted for a starting eleven made up of B. Hórreo; Jorge Mier, Ando, Armenteros, Prada; Rober, Meléndez, Guille Bernabéu; Alberto F., Sandoval and Javi Cueto. The visitors from Villaviciosa capitalised on a defensive mistake to take the lead in the first half. Los Carbayones largely dominated the opening 45 minutes, pushing CD Lealtad back into their own half and creating a large number of chances, although the away side did have the three best opportunities of the first half. The sides went in for halftime with the visitors 1-0 up.
Emilio Cañedo looked to his bench during the interval, bringing Erik Aguado on for the second half. Los Azules once again controlled the play, but found themselves up against a well-organised Lealtad side, who did not leave any gaps between the lines. The side from Villaviciosa tried to win the ball back off Vetusta and threatened Berto Hórreo's goal at certain points, until a Lealtad player was dismissed for a second yellow card in the 77th minute. Real Oviedo Vetusta began to lay siege to the away team's goal, and eventually managed to level the scores in the 84th minute. A fine piece of play from Javi Cueto saw one of the away defenders turn the ball into his own net. Emilio Cañedo's side was not satisfied with a point however, and continued to push forward, although they were unable to take any of their opportunities at first. However, in added time, Armenteros scored the winning goal, provoking euphoria in the Real Oviedo Vetusta ranks. Joselu and Eloy Ordóñez were the other substitutes used.
These were three important points for Real Oviedo Vetusta, who now sit fifth in the table, albeit with games still remaining this matchday.
