Football was back at El Requexón this Sunday, with Real Oviedo Vetusta playing their first home match of the year against Gimnástica de Torrelavega. The B team needed three points in order to move away from the relegation zone, and Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco, Osky, Charbel, Marco Esteban, Jaime Vázquez, Yayo, Izan, Víctor Blanco, Dieguito, Santi Miguélez and Sesé.

The match began with Vetusta looking to impose their game, while the Cantabrians opted to press high and make it difficult for the B team to play the ball out from the back. The visitors took the lead inside the first 15 minutes, with Varo heading home from Alberto's corner. Nonetheless, Jaime Álvarez's side looked to find an equaliser before the interval, but lacked the necessary finishing touch. Just before the break Gándara received a second yellow card, meaning that Gimnástica would play the entire second half with ten men.

Darío Hidalgo and Xavi Sola came on at half-time as the team looked to turn the match around, but, in the 56th minute, Basurto doubled the away side's lead. Gimnástica managed to hold on to this advantage, with Vetusta unable to convert from any of their chances. The B team put a lot of crosses into the box, but Sotres proved dominant in his area.

This defeat sees Vetusta remain on 18 points and in 15th place. They will face Valladolid Promesas next time out in Group 1 of the Segunda RFEF.
