Real Oviedo defender Alejandro Arribas today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
Following yesterday's clash against Sporting de Gijón, the centre back said that "it was an even match, in which not much football was played. We were better in the first half, and they were in the second half. I think a draw was fair, but we wanted to win." In addition, asked about the away team's coach's comments, in which he said Sporting deserved the victory, Arribas stated that "all you have to do is watch the first half. We wanted to play and they just wanted to waste time. They pushed in the second half to stop the game getting away from them. The team was good defensively. We worked very well. We tried everything and now there's no other option but to keep going."
With respect to the atmosphere before and during the match, Arribas highlighted that "the derby is very nice and everyone wants to play it. The fans are and were with us. They've always backed us." Regarding his feelings on an individual level, the defender admitted that "I'm starting to feel better and I hope to keep improving so that I can help the team. Feeling better helps you play better and with more confidence. I will improve game by game."
Finally, regarding the demands of the division and how he sees the team going into the coming fixtures, the centre back said that "the Segunda is an even division and it's all about fine details. We hope that they'll go our way on Sunday. I would be worried if the team wasn't working. It's been hard for us to move up the table, but sooner or later we will do it. We want to improve every single day."
