With María Suárez's management and development of the Real Oviedo Femenino project now confirmed, the club continues with the roadmap established for this new beginning.

It is a beginning that is defined by the values and philosophy of Grupo Pachuca in relation to women’s football, and one which intends to carry on with the existing trajectory in our city. The club is taking another step in this direction and has opted for young Asturian coach, Andrea Suárez Riera (Gijón, 1993), as Head Coach of the women's first team.

The former player represented teams such as Femiastur, León Fútbol Femenino and Olímpico de León, and will now make her debut as the Head Coach for the team in which she took her first steps in coaching. She will be in charge of leading Los Azules in a historic season for women’s football in Oviedo. Andrea, a graduate in Physical Education and Sports Sciences, started her career with Real Oviedo Femenino in 2019 under the guidance of Jose Aurelio Crespo, with whom she started working as a Fitness Coach with the B team. She moved on to work as Assistant Coach with the first team (2020-2022) and then at Racing Féminas (2022-2023). She was chosen to work alongside Basque coach Joseba Aguirre during the final stages of this season.

With a thorough knowledge of the club, she will now become the first woman to lead the city’s women’s football team. She was chosen based on her merits, career, training, and professionalism. It is a source of pride for Grupo Pachuca, which is convinced that women’s football must be established by reinforcing the role of women within it.
